Here is the list of points to write an idea:

  1. Title of the idea
  2. Objective
  3. Problem statement/Motivation 
  4. Scenarios in the problem 
  5. Explain the problem with an example
  6. Write the summary of the Proposed solution
  7. Write a detailed solution by covering all scenarios 
  8. Create a logical flow of information for the solution
  9. State what is Novel in the idea 


While working these points you can also do a search on web for any existing solution for prior art.

Once you are sure that there is noting out there similar to your idea you can contact a professional to write a patent draft for filing to the patent office in legal language which is acceptable or follow the guide line to write one by yourself to file it.

These inventions can helpful to the society for people's good or can be a way to earn money.  So it becomes important to the inventor to secure their idea and protract it form any unauthorized use by other to earn money and claim the solution as their idea. The five legal tools for protecting ideas are  Patents,  Trademarks,  Copyrights,  Trade dress unfair competition laws,  and Trade secrets.  Some of these legal tools can also be used creatively as marketing aids, and often more than one form of protection is available for a single design or innovation So get the idea protected under any one of the above on your name or if you want it to be used by anyone and make it open for social good at least publish it in any general so you can claim at any point if need in case someone tries to misuse it or claims as their idea.
